Eggs should never be stored in the fridge as it kills the germ and so they start to go off as soon as you remove them back to room temperature; that's why you'll never see an egg in the chiller section in the shops.
Eggs stored at room temperature will last for weeks, most supermarket eggs are up to two weeks old before they reach the shelf let alone your kitchen!
